This Week at WIVA
June, 2008
"This session was so helpful, Mr. Bergland. Thank you for your time and for answering our questions" This is a quote from a mother that attended our first session on July 1st.
You don't want to miss this! Join Principal Bergland for the remaining interactive Elluminate session planned for returning families. These orientation sessions are designed to review our revised school handbook,
share information regarding the upcoming school year and give you a chance to ask any questions you may have. Using your username and password, log on to this site, and then select Elluminate in the green tool bar at the top of this page, and click on Room 02 - Principal, Kurt Bergland.
Click on the Handbook 08-09 link above to review and/or print
Final date:
TUESDAY, JULY 8th, 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
2. We are looking forward to seeing new families at one of the New Family Orientation Sessions in your area in August. The benefits to your family will be enormous:
- Learn more about how our extraordinary school works
- Make the transition to WIVA much easier (for both parents and students)
- Take a big step towards student success in virtual education
- Meet and connect with current WIVA families
An email or snail-mail letter has been sent to all families with a new WIVA student, with all of the specific locations and dates around the state.
There is no need to register in advance; however, we ask that you call the WIVA office (262-692-3988) or e-mail Sandra (shenke@wivcs.org) if you have a scheduling conflict, so that an alternate meeting time can be setup prior to September.
Sessions will be led by either Principal Kurt Bergland, or Director of Curriculum Michael Skurek.
Lastly, because orientation to a virtual school really is a summer-long process, please take advantage of the Welcome New Families webpage: http://new.wivcs.groupfusion.net.
On this page, find information about new family coaches, children pen pals & chat buddies, Yahoo online parent discussion groups, the Wisconsin Coalition of Virtual School Families, and much more.
See you next week!
